Refused to take cash for lodging
We did not have a reservation but there were rooms available. As the desk clerk was checking us in I mentioned I wanted to pay cash, as I had done the day before in The Country Inn and Suites in Clarksville TN. I am willing to hold a room with a credit card, but I always pay cash as I do not
want to return from a vacation to a credit card bill. When I said cash the clerk stopped typing and looked up and stared at me and rudely said “we don’t accept cash here.” Won’t accept US dollars at a US hotel in Missouri! Is that even legal? We went next door to a Howard Johnson’s and they gladly accepted my cash.
