Booked a room and pre-paid for it as we were traveling across county on business. What a surprise, at 10:30 pm to show up at a pre-paid room and they had sold out all the rooms in the hotel and you were S..T out of luck. They had allowed us to pre-pay for room and then did not have a room to stay in. They said your “on line provider over booked the hotel”

They said they had no rooms and we had to call our online provider for a refund. We had to drive 2 more hours at that time of night to find a comparable
hotel. We had to call on line provider 4 times and after 15 minutes on hold we hung up, We sent two emails explaining the situation and the responses said to call…The hotel should have stopped the booking agent if they had no rooms.
