My Horrible Experience With the Facebook Ads Team

Hey everyone this is Eric Bryant with Leverage Your Time and in this post I’m going to talk to you about my horrible experience with the Facebook Ads Team. It all started back in May of 2015 when I posted this ad on my fan page.

Now a little info on my ad, all I’m promoting is a free report on the essentials of internet marketing, which entails everything from how to create a web page to, customer relationship management, social media, SEO, traffic and lead generation. Now as you all know you also have the opportunity to boost the post from your fan page.
Well when I tried to boost the post it was denied due to being flagged for MLM, get rich quick or work from home. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? HOW CAN A FREE REPORT THAT TALKS ABOUT BASIC ESSENTIALS FOR INTERNET MARKETING BE LABELED AS MLM, GET RICH QUICK, OR WORK FROM HOME? Well needless to say I was not happy so I disputed the decision stating that my ad in no way shape or form falls into these categories. And in doing so I received this response from the Facebook ads team. (screenshot of message uploaded here as image below)

Ok…but you said in an earlier email that you would pass this on to your internal team, now you’re telling me that YOU (not the internal team) has determined that you are unable to take further action regarding the matter.
Now the reason I’m sharing what happened to me is to impress upon you that Mark Zuckenberg owns Facebook, and because he owns Facebook he can make changes to the TOS of Facebook at anytime and he doesn’t have to advise you or consult you or anything. And with Facebook’s Ad guidelines becoming more tougher, those changes can drastically affect your business overnight.
At this point I said to myself no more…………..
So I started looking for other sources of traffic without the excessive nonsense and restrictions of Facebook. And lo and behold and by accident, I discovered a traffic source that crushes Facebook in terms of traffic and in a number of other things too. And what is even more shocking is that it’s right under everyone’s noses and yet people are not even paying attention….and that traffic source is Youtube
That’s right folks Youtube. Let me give you some very compelling reasons to ditch the restrictive advertising policies of Facebook and look at You Tube.
Now Youtube has over 1 billion active and unique users. Now I know Facebook has way more users however keep in mind that you have to be logged into Facebook to get the full experience. You don’t have that with Youtube and as a result You Tube gets an additional 800 million UNIQUE visitors per month. Together with the already 1 billion You Tube users they generate 4 Billion views per day. To put that in perspective that’s about 6 billion hours of video watched every month.
Now how fast is You Tube growing? Well consider this, over 300 hours of video are uploaded every minute……300 hours.
Want to supercharge your mobile marketing? You can’t get any better than Youtube with 1 billion views per day just from mobile alone. In fact 40% of youtube’s traffic comes from mobile
How about click through rates? According to a recent blog post from tubefilter.com in Sept 2014 a recent study showed that You Tube ads generate higher click through rates than both Facebook and Twitter and has shown to be the best social platform for introducing new products.
Now what is it that makes Youtube a traffic source you should look at? One reason and one reason only is video. Video converts, and if you’re not using video in your business you’re missing out! Why? Because people retain 95% percent of your message when watching it in a video as opposed to 10% when reading it in text. In addition videos have a 20% higher conversion rate than text alone.
Finally the greatest thing about video is simply freedom of content. With video you can promote your content (as long as it’s not offending of course) without restrictions and without the dictatorship of Facebook Ad policies. And of course without the worry of having your ads mistakenly classified as something they’re not.
According to research experts, 90% of internet traffic will be video. So with that being right around the corner, getting good at creating videos and learning how to leverage youtube will be critical in helping to further grow your business.
Then you will be free from the “ball and chain” ad policies of Facebook that can negatively impact your success.
